About
I am an evangelical Christian. I can’t live apart from God’s grace in my life every day. I am far, very far, from a good man, but God is changing and growing me by revealing Himself and my own sinfulness to me through His Son Jesus Christ in His Word, the Bible. The simple goal is to day-by-day, in very real, and very small ways die to myself and my desires and live for God and His Will. By His grace I live and work in southern California managing and running Audio/Visual systems for two great Christian ministries: The Master’s College (TMC) and Grace Community Church (GCC) of Sun Valley.
I have been involved in audio for worship services since I was 12-years-old. Starting back in El Paso, Texas our church needed an audio guy and I was the only one showing interest, so in about 4 weeks I was the guy, the only guy. That forced me to learn and dive in. It also made for a proud Junior Higher. Since then I’ve been invloved in audio at churches.
I eventually came to the Master’s College to study bible, but all along the Lord had me doing Audio/Visual ministry and eventually I decided that was where He wanted me to serve His church. Since then (about my Sophomore year in college) I’ve learned all I can and had a job as the Lead Audio Technician at the Master’s College getting to mix sound for chapel three-times-a-week, plus extra events. When I graduated the college hired me on to continue helping with everything Audio/Visual. Specifically I get to train audio/video personnel at TMC and help in every aspect of audio/visual production and resources duplicatio and sales. I manage our Chapel@TMC podcast . As well, I manage our budgets, etc. I get to help coordinate techincal planning for our new chapel building that we will hopefully break ground on in November. I get to run sound in chapels still, when I’m there. I love getting to work with our student employees. It is great and keeps me on my toes. I get to do sound for our Christmas Concert that see about 3,000 people come to our gymnasium as it is tranformed into a produciton space with stages covering three walls!
I started at GCC as a volunteer my Junior year in college helping at FOH Audio. Now, at GCC I get to run Front of House Audio in the main worship center on a normal basis for about 7,000 people over two morning and one evening service. I mix everything from classical string quartet numbers, the 120 person choir, our 32 piece orchestra, to contemporary band mixes for Sunday nights. I also do weddings and other events, as well as run audio for our major conference (Shepherd’s Conference) which is a 10 sessions over 3 days Pastor’s confrence, and our Christmas Concerts which see about 12,500 people attend every Christmas season.
